Flax Seed Oil For Acne
Flax seed oil for acne is today used internally as well as externally. Providing your body with a diet that ensures and ideal ratio between different fatty acids seem to help clearing up acne, for reasons that are still unknown. Several studies show that an ideal ratio between different fatty acids in the diet will decrease the risk of inflammatory disorders and improve the function of the sebaceous glands.
Flax seed oil can also have a soothing and moisturizing effect when applied directly on the skin. It is very important to choose pure flax seed oil without any impurities. There several different types of acne, including Acne vulgaris which is commonly experienced around puberty and is brought on by hormonal changes, and Acne medcamentosa, which can occur when you start, stop or alter the dosage of a medicine.
Even though many people have successfully used flax seed oil for acne, there are also those who suffer more severe out brakes of acne than normal when starting on flax seed oil. This seems to be especially common when eating large amounts of flax seed oil capsules. If your skin exhibits an adverse reaction to flax seed oil for acne, stop using it all together for a few weeks to let the skin settle. You can then carefully start to eat flax seed oil again, but stay away from the capsules. Integrate flax seeds (whole or grounded) in your every day diet instead, or use small amounts of flax seed oil when cooking.
