Cooking With Flax Seed Oil
Cooking with flax seed oil is a great way of introducing more beneficial flax seed oil to your diet. You can usually replace any other oil with flaw seed oil to make the dish more healthy.
This recipe yields around 12 delicious and filling low-carb muffins. If you want to cut down on fat, substitute some of the whipping cream with standard milk or low-fat milk.
Cooking with flax seed oil: Low carb muffins
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 3 eggs
- ¼ cup of whipping cream (or 1/8 cup whipping cream + 1/8 cup milk)
- 1 tablespoon of maple flavouring
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla
- ½ cup of artificial sweetener
- 2 tablespoons of flax seed oil
- 4 oz of black walnuts
- 1 cup of grounded flax seeds
- ¼ cup of soy flour
- 3 teaspoons of cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons of nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon of baking soda
- ½ teaspoon of baking powder

- When cooking with flax seed oil following this low-carb recipe, you must start by preheating the oven to 375 degrees F.
- The next step is to melt the butter on the stove or in the microwave oven.
- Pour the melted butter into a bowl and beat in 3 eggs and ¼ cup of whipping cream. If you want to make low-fat low-carb muffins, use 1/8 cup of cream and 1/8 cup of milk instead.
- Stir in maple flavouring, vanilla, artificial sweetener, and flax seed oil.
- Chop the walnuts and place them in a bowl together with the grounded flax seeds.
- Add soy flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and baking powder to the nut-seed mix. Blend all ingredients well.
- Pour the flax seed blend into the bowl of egg mixture and stir.
- Pour the mixture into cupcake liners placed in a muffin tin. This flax seed oil recipe normally yields 10-12 cupcakes.
- Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
